Aaina is a 1993 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Saeed Akhtar Mirza and produced by Boney Kapoor. It stars Dharmendra, Sangeeta Bijlani, Danny Denzongpa and Mumtaz Sorcar. In Hyderabad Pranay Kumar (Dharmendra) is a kindhearted man who takes care of an orphan child he found in a garbage dump in his neighbourhood called Aaina (Sangeeta Bhijlani). His life is turned upside down when he finds out that Aaina is the daughter of his estranged brother, Raja (Danny Denzongpa) who was presumed dead in an airplane crash. Raja also left behind a letter stating that Pranay should take care of Aaina as she is now Pranay's daughter. This letter upsets Raja's wife, Shoba (Mumtaz Sorcar), as by this logic Pranay could claim rights to their estate and wealth. Meanwhile, a man named Mohammad Saeed (Raza Murad) who had been pursuing Shoba now turns to Aaina's mother for marriage as he feels now that Pranay has a claim over the estate. With Aaina's mother unable to provide any more financial support, Pranay agrees to the marriage. Shoba is devasted at her daughter's wedding as she has fallen in love with Pranay. Saeed is soon revealed to be a cunning con man who has had an affair with Shoba during their marriage. He hopes that his daughter Zahra (Faris Bharti) will inherit his estate once he dies. Shoba realizes the truth of things when Raja returns from America where he was employed as an engineer. Raja had been called home by his boss to take part in a presentation. Raja had attended the presentation and was heading back to the airport when a hailstorm caused the aircraft to crash. With Shoba's help, Pranay exposes Saeed as a fake.
